Treating Sick & Injured Pets

Pets have natural survival instincts to hide their illnesses and injuries.  It’s how they survived in the wild.  By the time you notice they aren’t feeling well, there’s a good chance this problem has been going on for a while.  It’s time to give us a call and schedule an appointment with one of our doctors.

Our doctors will start by asking you some questions about how things are going at home and how long you’ve noticed the symptoms.  Then they will perform a comprehensive head to tail exam and start to piece together an understanding of what’s wrong.  Since pets can’t talk, it can be even more challenging to figure things out.  Sometimes our doctors will recommend some lab tests and/or x-rays or an ultrasound to get a better understanding.

Once the doctors have a good idea of what’s going on, they’ll share with you their top concerns and some plans to help your pet feel better.  In some cases, we can treat your pet on an outpatient basis and send you home with a treatment plan and maybe medications and/or a special diet.  In more serious cases, we may recommend hospitalizing your pet to help them feel better.  We want you to have peace of mind, so please ask questions so you can have a clear understanding of your pet’s condition and treatment plan.
