Dr. Yvonne Roberts is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) specifically trained to practice acupuncture on animals. Only licensed veterinarians are eligible to practice acupuncture for animals.
During the first one-hour acupuncture visit, each patient gets a full physical exam and assessment to determine if any diagnostic tests are needed. Then, if your pet is a candidate, a treatment plan including acupuncture, herbs, supplements, pain medications, life-style modifications, exercises and diets will be developed. Following sessions last about 15 to 30 minutes. The number of treatments varies depending on the nature, severity and duration of the disease. Chronic conditions may take six or more treatments to see a response.
